MCR

Microbial load reduction device

Reducing the microbial load of water with pulsed electric fields, without adding chemicals and without causing undesirable changes in temperature, pH, or the main characteristics of water.

Introduction of microbial load reduction device

The MCR device deactivates the microorganisms present in water using electrical pulses and Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology. The pulsed electric field disrupts the cell membrane, reducing the ability of microorganisms to repair and resume activity. This process is carried out without the use of chemicals and preserves the main characteristics of the water.

Applications and Key Benefits

System applications

  • Livestock and poultry slaughterhouses
  • Fish and shrimp farming workshops and pools
  • Urban treatment plants
  • Slaughterhouse and industrial unit chiller water
  • Municipal drinking water and other applications of microbial load control

Technical and operational benefits

  • Reduction of microbial and coliform load in water
  • Designable in different capacities; the final capacity is determined based on flow rate, water quality, and project conditions
  • No use of chemicals in the process
  • No generation of heat or change in pH in water
  • Low energy consumption and no need for a specialized operator
  • No need for construction structure
  • Capability to install sensors for measuring water parameters
  • Low occupied space and the possibility of installation as a bypass
  • No production of unwanted by-products and compatibility with common disinfection methods
